The Sydney International Animation Festival made its debut in 2009. Recruited by the University of Technology, Sydney, I worked on the branding and identity- choosing the emu egg as the symbol of birth for the animation industry event in Sydney.
The Emu egg spilling out layers of different animations (featured in the programme) were used to engage audiences of all ages to come and join in the festival fun. We (in the art direction team) also came up with an idea of having an award for the best animation that would be titled “The Blue Egg Award.”
The branding work was featured in Desktop Magazine and the festival gained success in delivering a world class animation industry event in Sydney.
