While working in Laos in 2013, a peer from the World Health Organization expressed the urgent need to communicate important vaccination schedules to women and community members in villages nationwide.
There was an emphasis on Hepatitis, Women and Children vaccination requirements. A simple poster I provided helped tackle the issue of remembering important dates.
The process involved representing the major ethnic groups through the choice of imagery employed. Health workers were amongst the crucial decision-makers in determining the posters’ communication objectives.
The posters were distributed nationwide, including remote villages where the WHO and my peer, the epidemiologist, held their interventions.
